**Hyderabad, March 13, 2025** – A 22-year-old cashier, Ram Swaroop, has been arrested by Charminar police for allegedly embezzling ₹70 lakh from his employer, Rajlaxmi Textiles (India) Pvt. Ltd. Swaroop, who worked as a cashier and billing operator, used the stolen funds to purchase a country-made pistol, ammunition, and two iPhones, according to police.
The arrest follows a complaint filed by the company director, Jairam Dewasi, on March 10th. Police investigations revealed that Swaroop had engaged in fraudulent activities to misappropriate the funds. He confessed to purchasing the illegal firearm and ammunition for ₹40,000 from Mohan Ram in Rajasthan, who is currently at large.
Police have seized the pistol, ammunition, and the iPhones. Swaroop has been remanded in judicial custody, and authorities are working to apprehend Mohan Ram.
