Wed Mar 12 18:11:25 UTC 2025: ## Congress Denies Factional Meeting in Kozhikode

**Kozhikode, March 12, 2025** – The Kozhikode District Congress Committee (DCC) has refuted media reports claiming a factional meeting was held by senior party leaders on March 9th. An inquiry conducted by K.P. Babu and U.V. Dinesh Mani, appointed by the DCC, found that a lawyers’ wing meeting, not a factional gathering, took place at the city hotel in question.

The initial reports, citing a complaint to KPCC president K. Sudhakaran, alleged that KPCC working president T. Siddique and general secretary P.M. Niyas held a meeting at the behest of a faction led by AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. Following the complaint, both Mr. Sudhakaran and Mr. Venugopal reportedly sought clarification from local leadership.

DCC president K. Praveenkumar stated that the inquiry report, submitted Wednesday, confirmed the meeting was solely that of the Congress lawyers’ wing, dismissing the earlier reports as baseless. The initial complaint had been filed by former DCC president K.C. Abu.
