**VISAKHAPATNAM, March 11, 2025** – The Mahila Chetana women’s organization has demanded a thorough investigation into the mysterious death of a woman NRI found deceased in a Visakhapatnam hotel on March 6th. General secretary K. Padma raised concerns about several inconsistencies in the police investigation, alleging a lack of transparency and potential mishandling of the case.
The victim, also an NRI, was reportedly meeting Dr. P. Sridhar, another NRI from the USA, at the hotel when she died. Padma questioned why police took a complaint from the hotel manager instead of Dr. Sridhar, who was present in the room. She further criticized the police for stating in the FIR that there was “no accused” before the post-mortem report was even available.
Mahila Chetana is calling for Police Commissioner intervention, demanding an inquiry into the police’s actions, which they believe are suspicious. The organization highlighted the police’s failure to inform the media about the incident as further cause for concern.
