Mon Mar 10 14:42:58 UTC 2025: ## Mangaluru MP Seeks Intervention for ISPRL Employees’ Grievances
**Mangaluru, March 10, 2025** – Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta has urged the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) to address the long-standing human resources (HR) policy issues affecting employees at the Mangaluru facility of Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL).
In a meeting with MoPNG Secretary Pankaj Jain on Monday, Capt. Chowta highlighted the plight of ISPRL employees, including those from Project Displaced Families (PDFs), who have reportedly faced numerous challenges for over eight years due to the absence of a formal HR policy.
Key concerns raised include significant salary and benefit disparities between directly recruited ISPRL employees and those on deputation from Oil PSUs, lack of a promotion policy leading to stagnation, and unequal work schedules (six-day work week for Mangaluru employees versus a five-day week for those in Noida). Furthermore, the MP pointed out inadequate medical coverage, Provident Fund (PF) benefits, gratuity, shift allowances, and accident compensation for employees handling hazardous materials. He also criticized the excessively long (two-year) training period for PDFs, hindering their career progression.
Capt. Chowta requested immediate intervention to ensure salary parity, provide necessary allowances, and establish clear career progression opportunities. He also sought interim relief for the affected employees. A release from the MP’s office confirmed these actions.
