Sun Mar 09 10:05:40 UTC 2025: **Maharashtra Family Claims Entrapment After Anti-India Slogan Accusation, Home Demolished**

**Mumbai, March 9, 2025** – A 15-year-old boy and his family from Uttar Pradesh are alleging entrapment after they were accused of shouting anti-India slogans during a cricket match in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district. The incident, which occurred on February 23rd, led to the arrest of the boy and his parents, a scrap dealer and his wife. Their home and shop were subsequently demolished by civic authorities, citing unauthorized construction. The boy’s uncle also had his godown demolished.

The family maintains the teenager, who attends a madrasa, was returning from prayers when he was accosted by men who falsely accused him of shouting anti-India slogans. The boy claims he doesn’t watch cricket and that the men fabricated the accusations after a confrontation. His father corroborates this, stating his son is not interested in the sport. Police confirm an investigation is underway but admit to having no audio or video evidence.

The incident sparked further controversy as some gram panchayats in Malvan subsequently decided to restrict businesses run by people from other states, although authorities claim this wasn’t a targeted action against any specific community. The family is demanding a fair investigation, claiming the entire incident was a deliberate attempt to harass them. The case continues with the accused currently out on bail, and a chargesheet expected soon.
