**NEW DELHI, March 5, 2025** – India is set to host the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) from May 1-4 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. The initiative, announced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, aims to connect Indian and global media and entertainment industries.
Ministers Vaishnaw and Jaishankar will brief ambassadors and heads of missions on March 13th about the summit. A senior official described WAVES as a “premier global event” designed to foster growth, collaborations, and innovation within the sector. The summit will include a roundtable discussion with leading industry figures from around the world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met with the 34-member WAVES Advisory Board to discuss the initiative. The summit organizers have extended invitations to global leaders in the media and entertainment industry to attend.
