Tue Mar 04 19:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Local Hero Saquon Barkley Gets Hometown Celebration After Super Bowl Win

**Allentown, PA** – Fresh off the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory, Lehigh Valley native and star running back Saquon Barkley will be honored with a special hometown celebration this Sunday, February 25th, at the PPL Center in Allentown. The event, running from 2-4 p.m., will feature performances by Whitehall High School’s cheerleaders and marching band – Barkley’s alma mater.

Tickets are available for $1.50, with half the proceeds benefiting Barkley’s Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation, which supports underserved youth in academics and athletics. Attendees will also have a chance to receive a free Barkley keepsake. Free general parking will be provided.

Both Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk and Whitehall Mayor Joe Marx expressed their excitement for the event, praising Barkley’s dedication and commitment to the community. Mayor Tuerk stated that Barkley “embodies what makes Allentown the beating heart of the Lehigh Valley.”

Barkley’s record-breaking season with the Eagles has brought renewed attention to Whitehall High School and the Lehigh Valley. He grew up in Coplay and went on to star at Penn State before being drafted by the New York Giants. This past season was his first with the Eagles. Barkley follows fellow Lehigh Valley native and Super Bowl champion Jahan Dotson, who was honored by the Lehigh Valley Phantoms earlier this week.
