**Chennai, March 5, 2025** – An unemployed engineering graduate, Aditya Narayanan (28), has been arrested for the murder of his father, Muralidharan (66), in Thillai Ganga Nagar, Nanganallur. Narayanan, a gold medalist in Production Engineering, was reportedly unemployed and living with his parents. He frequently argued with his father over money.
The incident occurred on Monday after a heated argument escalated. Narayanan stabbed his father in the neck and fled the scene in an auto-rickshaw. During the ride, he confessed the crime to his brother, Prasanna Venkatesh, over the phone, requesting an ambulance. The auto-rickshaw driver, overhearing the conversation, immediately took Narayanan to the Triplicane Police station.
Meanwhile, Prasanna Venkatesh discovered his father unconscious and injured at home. He rushed him to a hospital, but Muralidharan was pronounced dead.
Adambakkam Police subsequently arrested Narayanan on murder charges. He has been remanded to judicial custody. The case highlights the tragic consequences of unemployment and family conflict.
