**Erode, Tamil Nadu, March 5, 2025** – A meeting of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) functionaries in Gobichettipalayam turned tense on Wednesday following a disruption allegedly orchestrated by a supporter of former Anthiyur MLA E.M.R. Raja.

According to reports, an individual claiming to be an AIADMK functionary from Anthiyur created a disturbance at the meeting, chaired by Gobichettipalayam MLA K.A. Sengottaiyan. The individual, after being invited to the stage, reportedly became aggressive, leading to a physical altercation involving chairs and the individual being chased from the meeting.

While the situation was quickly resolved and the meeting resumed, Mr. Sengottaiyan accused Mr. Raja of being behind the incident, blaming him for the AIADMK’s electoral defeat in the Anthiyur constituency. He claimed to possess an audio CD as evidence supporting his accusation. The meeting was attended by several other MLAs, including Mettupalayam MLA A.K. Selvaraj and Bhavanisagar MLA A. Bannari. The incident briefly disrupted the proceedings but did not derail the meeting entirely.
