Mon Mar 03 14:01:39 UTC 2025: ## Over 20,000 Students Begin Plus Two Exams in Tirunelveli District
**TIRUNELVELI, March 3, 2025** – The Plus Two public examinations commenced today across Tirunelveli district, with over 20,000 students sitting for the final exams. A total of 19,816 regular students (8,921 boys and 10,895 girls) and 416 private candidates are participating in the exams, which will continue until March 25th. The exams are being held across 73 centers, including government and private schools, as well as the Palayamkottai Central Prison.
District Collector R. Sukumar visited an examination center to oversee the smooth conduct of the exams, highlighting measures implemented to ensure uninterrupted power supply and security for question papers and answer scripts. Over 2,000 invigilators, along with static and flying squads, are deployed to prevent malpractice.
Concerns were raised by women teachers at one examination center about the suitability of their posting at a boys’ school, suggesting that male staff would be more effective for supervision.
In neighboring Tenkasi district, 16,961 students are also taking the Plus Two exams across 66 centers.
