Sat Mar 01 10:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Veteran Karun Nair’s Century Puts Vidarbha in Command in Ranji Trophy Final
**Mumbai, India** – Experienced Vidarbha batsman Karun Nair has slammed a stunning century in the Ranji Trophy final against Kerala, putting his team in a commanding position. Nair reached his hundred off 184 balls in Vidarbha’s second innings, marking his 23rd first-class century and ninth of the current domestic season.
The 33-year-old’s exceptional form has reignited talks of a potential return to the Indian national team. His current Ranji Trophy performance includes over 850 runs in nine matches, with four centuries. His dominant form extends to the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, where he amassed 779 runs in eight innings at a staggering average of 389.50, including five centuries and one half-century.
Nair’s resurgence comes after a significant gap from international cricket. He famously scored a triple-century (303*) against England in Mohali in December 2016. However, subsequent inconsistent performances led to his exclusion from the team. His last Test match was in March 2017 against Australia. In his six Test appearances for India, he scored 374 runs, and played only two ODIs, scoring 46 runs.
In the Ranji final, Vidarbha posted 379 in their first innings, while Kerala were bowled out for 342. Vidarbha’s strong batting performance in the second innings, spearheaded by Nair’s century, has firmly established their dominance in the match.
