Sat Mar 01 12:47:35 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Prepares for Summer Power Surge
**Alappuzha, March 1, 2025** – The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is prepared to meet the rising electricity demand during the upcoming summer months, according to Power Minister K. Krishnankutty. Speaking at the virtual inauguration of new KSEB offices in Ambalappuzha on Friday, Mr. Krishnankutty stated that daily power consumption is projected to reach 100 million units in March, a five million unit increase from the current level.
To address this anticipated surge, the government is securing additional power through inter-state agreements. Deals are already in place with Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, with further agreements pending regulatory approval. The plan involves procuring electricity from northern states from March to May and returning the power during the off-peak season (June to September).
