Sat Feb 22 13:46:20 UTC 2025: ## “Chhaava” Box Office Slows After Record-Breaking Run

**Mumbai, India** – Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama, “Chhaava,” continues to dominate the box office, surpassing his previous highest-grossing film, “Uri: The Surgical Strike.” However, the film’s momentum appears to be slowing. After nine days in theaters, “Chhaava” has raked in an estimated ₹259.3 crore India net, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This surpasses “Uri’s” total of ₹244.14 crore earned over 13 weeks.

Despite its overall success, “Chhaava” saw a significant dip in earnings on Day 9, collecting approximately ₹16.55 crore. This represents a roughly 30 percent decrease compared to Day 8’s box office returns. While still performing well compared to other recent releases, the slowdown marks a departure from the film’s strong opening week, which generated ₹219.25 crore.

The film enjoyed a spectacular opening weekend, culminating in a ₹48.5 crore haul on Sunday. Its strong performance continued into the second Friday with an estimated ₹23 crore.

The film’s success has garnered high-profile praise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded “Chhaava” for its portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery. Vicky Kaushal expressed his honor at the Prime Minister’s commendation.
