Sat Feb 22 13:31:32 UTC 2025: ## Chittoor Zilla Parishad Approves ₹3,996 Crore Budget for 2025-26

**Chittoor, February 22, 2025** – The Chittoor Zilla Parishad (ZP) has approved a budget of ₹3,996 crore for the 2025-26 financial year, prioritizing rural development, education, healthcare, and infrastructure improvements. ZP chairman Govindappa Srinivas announced the allocation at a meeting on Saturday, attended by district officials and representatives.

The budget includes significant investments across various sectors. ₹2,285 crore has already been disbursed to 560,785 beneficiaries through the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) since April 2024. Progress in housing has seen 90,081 houses completed out of a planned 1,54,300. The ‘Dokka Seethamma Middaly Meal Scheme’ has provided nutritious meals to 285,900 students in 4,738 schools.

Healthcare initiatives saw ₹11.93 crore allocated to the ‘NTR Medical Service,’ benefiting 23,524 patients, while 24,294 received free eye care. Infrastructure development saw the completion of 3,312 kilometers of roads under the Panchayati Raj Department, along with 23 projects under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.’

Addressing water scarcity, 5,289 projects have been sanctioned under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and other initiatives. Furthermore, a ₹5.70 crore electricity subsidy was provided to 107,792 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries. The ZP chairman also emphasized the expedited completion of pending engineering projects under Panchayati Raj and Rural Water Supply departments, addressing concerns raised by legislators.
