Sat Feb 22 09:11:25 UTC 2025: ## Lulu Group to Invest ₹5,000 Crore in Kerala, Create 15,000 Jobs

**KOCHI, February 22, 2025** – Lulu Group International (LGI) announced a significant ₹5,000 crore investment in Kerala, promising to generate around 15,000 jobs over the next four to five years. The investment, revealed by LGI Executive Director M.A. Ashraf Ali at the Invest Kerala Global Summit, will focus on a food processing zone in Kalamassery and IT and fintech infrastructure within the state’s Global City project.

While the exact breakdown of investment across sectors is still being finalized, Ali confirmed that the food processing zone will span 20 acres and include extensive cold storage facilities. The zone will source produce from across Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu, processing it for export. The investment also includes ongoing projects in the retail sector, such as mini shopping malls across the state.

Ali also highlighted that LGI’s twin IT towers at Infopark Kochi, a separate project employing approximately 25,000 professionals, will be commissioned within three months. This project is not included in the newly announced ₹5,000 crore investment. The announcement follows consultations with Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeeve.
