**New Delhi, February 20, 2025** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Science examination, held today, was deemed by students to be of moderate difficulty, slightly tougher than last year’s paper. The three-hour exam, conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, saw students reporting varying levels of challenge across the different sections.
While the Physics portion was considered relatively easy, students found several questions to be tricky, requiring a deeper understanding of concepts. Many students noted that prior practice with previous years’ question papers and sample papers proved helpful in tackling this section. Numerical questions focused primarily on the chapters on Light and Electricity, including lens and mirror formulas.
Chemistry, however, presented the most significant challenge for students, with several reporting difficulty in answering a significant portion of the questions. In contrast, Biology was generally considered the easiest section, with a large number of questions directly drawn from the Life Processes and Reproduction chapters. A diagram-based question on the spinal cord was also deemed manageable.
The exam, totaling 100 marks (80 for the theory paper and 20 for internal assessment), comprised mostly direct questions from the NCERT textbook, including multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The absence of competency-based questions was a welcome relief for many students. An average score of 70 out of 100 was reported, reflecting the moderate difficulty level.
Students are advised to check the official CBSE website for the release of the question paper PDF and further updates.
