**Mohali, Punjab – February 19, 2025** – G Nageswara Rao, a senior IPS officer, assumed charge as the new Chief Director of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday. Rao, a 1995-batch officer, replaces Varinder Kumar, who was removed from the post on Monday.
In his first address, Rao emphasized the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and pledged to conduct swift and thorough investigations into all corruption cases. He stressed the importance of efficient administration and transparent governance. Before this appointment, Rao served as the Additional Director General of Police (provisioning).
