Wed Feb 19 13:43:25 UTC 2025: ## Tesla’s India Entry Gains Momentum as Company Lists Jobs

**New Delhi, Feb 19, 2025** – Tesla, the electric vehicle giant owned by Elon Musk, is once again fueling speculation about its imminent entry into the Indian market. The company has begun listing jobs across various departments, including sales, service, and business operations, signaling a potential move to establish a strong presence in India.

While Tesla’s plans to enter the Indian market date back to 2016, previous attempts were hampered by high import duties. Despite this setback, and following discussions between Elon Musk and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2023, where Musk cited tariff structures as a major hurdle, Tesla registered a subsidiary in India in 2021.

The current job postings, however, suggest a significant step forward. The roles listed include service managers and consultants, sales consultants, store managers, customer support staff, business analysts, and order and sales operations specialists.

This development comes a year after India announced its new EV policy, which offers lower import duties for global companies investing in domestic manufacturing within the next three years. This policy is believed to be a key factor in Tesla’s renewed interest in the Indian market. The company’s decision to actively recruit now indicates a serious commitment to establishing a retail and service infrastructure within India. The timing suggests Tesla is poised to finally make its long-awaited debut in the country.
