**Jaipur, Rajasthan** – Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari announced a significant budget allocation for Jaipur, encompassing various development projects across infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, and education. The allocation totals hundreds of crores of rupees.
Key highlights of the budget include:
**Infrastructure Development:** ₹250 crore has been earmarked for road development to improve traffic flow and reduce accident zones. This includes upgrades to the Delhi-Jaipur, Jaipur-Agra, and Jaipur-Kota highways to make them “zero-accident zones.” Several elevated road projects are also planned, including one at the OTS intersection (₹185 crore), another from Jhotwara to Khatipura (₹65 crore), and a 2.40 km stretch from Apex Circle to Jagatpura Balaji Tiraha (₹130 crore). Further, ₹135 crore will be spent on road renovations in Sanganeer, Jagatpura, Jhotwara, and Ghat ki Gooni. A feasibility study for metro rail lines in Jagatpura and Vaishali Nagar will also be undertaken, and the unused BRTS corridor will be removed.
**Tourism Boost:** To enhance Jaipur’s tourism appeal, the government will invest ₹50 crore in year-round cultural festivals at the Govind Dev Ji temple. An additional ₹25 crore will be allocated to the Albert Hall Museum, and a new hop-on-hop-off bus service will be introduced.
**Healthcare Improvements:** A substantial ₹500 crore will be invested in upgrading the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). This includes upgrading the RUHHS to establish a research center for geriatric medicine.
**Investment and Industry:** The creation of “flatted factories” in the Bichoon area aims to attract investment and generate employment opportunities for local youth.
**Education and Sports:** A new girls’ Sainik School will be established, while Vedic Gurukul and Vedic tourism centers will promote ancient Indian traditions. Sports infrastructure will receive a boost with the construction of a badminton academy and shooting range at the SMS Stadium, and synthetic running tracks at the Chitrakoot and Vidhyadhar Nagar stadiums.
