**ALAPPUZHA, February 17, 2025** – Veteran communist leader and former Minister G. Sudhakaran has been awarded the Bharathan Smaraka Sarga Prathibha Award. The award, presented by the World Dramatic Study Centre and Film Institute (WDSCFI) in Alappuzha, recognizes Mr. Sudhakaran’s contributions. The ceremony, held recently in Alappuzha, also saw Mr. Sudhakaran inaugurate the distribution of the WDSCFI’s 14th Short Film Awards, established in memory of filmmaker Bharathan. Aryad Bharghavan, director of the WDSCFI, presided over the event.
