**Kozhikode, Kerala – February 18, 2025** – The Government Fisheries Lower Primary School in Kadalundi Nagaram, Vallikkunnu panchayat, has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to a significant philanthropic initiative. The Faizal and Shabana Foundation, founded by the chairperson and vice-chairperson of Dubai-based KEF Holdings, invested over ₹1 crore in renovating the school, providing it with state-of-the-art facilities.
The renovated school now boasts modern learning spaces, a vibrant playground, an art room, a library, a modern dining hall, a children’s park, an open-air theatre, and ample parking. The project is seen as a model for upgrading other government schools along the Kerala coast.
MLA P. Abdul Hameed inaugurated the renovated school on Monday, February 17th, with Vallikkunnu panchayat president A. Shailaja presiding. Faizal Kottikollon and his wife Shabana expressed their commitment to bridging the educational gap and creating inclusive learning environments for underprivileged students. This is not the Foundation’s first such undertaking; their previous “Prism” project upgraded a girls’ vocational school in Kozhikode to world-class standards in 2013. The Foundation continues to focus on improving school infrastructure in underserved areas.
