Sun Feb 16 20:00:00 UTC 2025: **FDA Issues Class I Recall for Pearl Milling Company Pancake Mix Due to Undeclared Milk**

**Washington, D.C.** – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class I recall for Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix, the highest level of recall, due to the presence of undeclared milk. The recall, initially announced in January by Quaker Oats Company (the product’s manufacturer), was upgraded to Class I on February 13th.

The recall affects approximately 10,000 cartons of two-pound boxes with UPC code “30000 65040” and a “best by” date of September 13, 2025. The product may have been purchased as early as November 18, 2024, and was distributed across 11 states.

A Class I recall signifies a “reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death,” according to the FDA. Individuals with milk allergies or sensitivities risk a severe or life-threatening reaction if they consume the recalled mix. The FDA advises consumers with these allergies to discard the product immediately.

This recall follows a separate, large-scale recall by Quaker Oats in December 2023 and January 2024 involving over 100 products due to potential Salmonella contamination. At this time, no allergic reactions related to the pancake mix recall have been reported.
