**Mumbai, India** – Laxman Utekar’s historical action film, “Chhaava,” starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has stormed the box office, achieving a phenomenal opening weekend. The film, which released on Friday, Valentine’s Day, collected a staggering ₹117.63 crore net in its first three days.
Sunday alone witnessed a massive surge in collections, with the film raking in nearly ₹50 crore (₹49.63 crore), according to Sacnilk. This follows a strong opening day collection of ₹31 crore, setting a new record for the highest opening day gross for a Valentine’s Day release, surpassing “Gully Boy’s” previous record. Saturday saw a further increase of 19.35%, bringing in ₹37 crore.
The film’s success has led to added showtimes in Maharashtra due to high demand, with reported 97% occupancy.
Vicky Kaushal’s performance has garnered significant praise, including a glowing endorsement from his wife, Katrina Kaif, who lauded his “outstanding” portrayal on Instagram. She also praised the entire cast and crew, including director Laxman Utekar and producer Dinesh Vijan.
“Chhaava,” a Maddock Films production with music by A.R.
