Sun Feb 16 09:32:18 UTC 2025: ## RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Calls for Closer Understanding of the Organization
**Kolkata, West Bengal –** Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday urged people to engage more closely with the organization to dispel misunderstandings about its goals. Addressing volunteers in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, Bhagwat emphasized that the RSS aims solely to unite Hindu society, fostering a sense of unity and brotherhood.
Bhagwat likened the RSS’s work to that of Lord Buddha in character building, stating that its efforts towards national unity are unprecedented in recent centuries. He used the parable of blind men and an elephant to illustrate how observing the organization from a distance can lead to misinterpretations. He refuted claims that the RSS’s activities negatively impact businesses or are motivated by ignorance.
Celebrating the RSS’s centenary year, Bhagwat clarified that the organization’s growth is not for self-aggrandizement but for the benefit of the nation. He highlighted the organization’s vast network and its 130,000 initiatives serving society. Bhagwat underscored the RSS’s commitment to inclusivity and its belief in “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), promoting friendly relations even with potential adversaries.
The speech came during Bhagwat’s 10-day visit to West Bengal. His rally proceeded after the Calcutta High Court allowed it, despite state government objections regarding noise restrictions during ongoing secondary school examinations. The court mandated minimal sound levels to avoid disruptions.
