NEW DELHI – A stampede at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night claimed the lives of 18 people, 14 of whom were women. The incident occurred on platforms 13 and 14, where a massive crowd had gathered for travel to the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The sheer volume of people resulted in a crush, leaving many suffocated with no escape.

Authorities have released the names and details of the victims, ranging in age from 7 to 79 years old. The victims hailed from various locations including Delhi, Bihar, and Haryana. Following the tragedy, additional crowd control measures are being implemented at platform 16 of the station.
