**Mumbai, India** – A fire that broke out Sunday morning in an 11-story building in Mumbai’s Masjid Bandar area resulted in two fatalities and four injuries. The blaze, which started at approximately 6:11 am in the Panna Ali Mansion, was contained to the ground floor’s electrical wiring and meter box.

Two women, Sabila Khatun Shaikh (42) and Sajiya Alam Sheikh (30), died from injuries and smoke inhalation sustained while in the first-floor common passage. Two others, Karim Shaikh (20) and Shahin Shaikh (22), residing on the sixth and eighth floors respectively, suffered from smoke inhalation but are reported to be in stable condition at J J Hospital.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 6:31 am. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
