**MUMBAI** – A fire at an 11-story building in Mumbai’s Masjid Bandar area claimed the lives of two women and left two others hospitalized on Sunday morning. The blaze, which started at 6:11 am in the Panna Ali Mansion, was contained to the ground floor’s electrical wiring and meter box. However, thick smoke spread through the building, causing fatal injuries to Sabila Khatun Shaikh (42) and Sajiya Alam Sheikh (30), who were found in the first-floor common passage. They were pronounced dead at a local hospital. Karim Shaikh (20) and Shahin Shaikh (22), residing on the sixth and eighth floors respectively, suffered from smoke inhalation and are currently in stable condition at J J Hospital. Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 6:31 am. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
