Sat Feb 15 15:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Indians Post 164/10, Delhi Capitals Stumble in Chase
**Vadodara:** In a thrilling Women’s Premier League (WPL) encounter at the Kotambi Stadium, Mumbai Indians posted a challenging 164/10, thanks to a stellar 80 by Natalie Sciver-Brunt. Delhi Capitals, in response, lost early wickets and reached 83/4 after 10 overs in their chase.
Mumbai’s innings saw a strong partnership between captain Harmanpreet Kaur (42) and Sciver-Brunt, who smashed 13 boundaries in her unbeaten knock. The Mumbai innings however was punctuated by regular wickets, with three run-outs and contributions from other batters being minimal. Delhi’s bowlers, particularly Anabel Sutherland (3 wickets) and Shikha Pandey (2 wickets), kept things tight, but Sciver-Brunt’s aggressive batting proved the difference.
Delhi’s chase got off to a promising start with Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma putting on a 45-run partnership in the powerplay. However, the fall of key wickets, including Lanning (15) and Verma (43), derailed their momentum. Sutherland’s quick 13 also ended in quick fashion. At the 10-over mark, the Capitals were still well behind the required run rate.
Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning won the toss and opted to bowl first. The match marked the debut of India’s Under-19 World Cup-winning captain, Nikki Prasad, for Delhi. The match continues.
