**San Francisco, CA – February 7, 2025** – Two-time defending champion Mac McClung will attempt to make history at NBA All-Star 2025, aiming to become the first three-peat winner in the AT&T Slam Dunk contest. He’ll face stiff competition from a field of impressive rookies: Matas Buzelis (Chicago Bulls), Stephon Castle (San Antonio Spurs), and Andre Jackson Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks).
McClung, currently playing for the Osceola Magic in the G League, will be joined by Buzelis, the fifth Bull to participate in the contest, Castle, the first Spur since 1988, and Jackson Jr., the fifth Buck to take on the challenge.
This year’s judging panel boasts a legendary lineup: Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady, former dunk contest participant Baron Davis, and two-time champion Jason Richardson. For the first time, the judging panel will also include NBA ID members who will cast their votes via the NBA app, with their average score revealed live by basketball creator Jesser. In the event of a tie, Jesser will cast the deciding vote.
The AT&T Slam Dunk contest will take place as part of State Farm All-Star Saturday Night on February 15th, 2025, preceding the 74th NBA All-Star Game at the Chase Center in San Francisco on February 16th. The event promises an exciting spectacle, highlighting the extraordinary athleticism and skill of the NBA’s rising stars.
