Wed Feb 12 16:24:39 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Police Summon Comedians, Influencers Over Offensive YouTube Show

**Mumbai, India –** Maharashtra cyber police have summoned over 30 individuals, including prominent comedians, actors, and influencers, in connection with a controversial episode of Samay Raina’s YouTube show, “India’s Got Latent.” The summons follow an FIR filed after a question posed by Ranveer Allahbadia sparked outrage.

Allahbadia’s question, which involved a graphic sexual scenario, prompted a complaint from a viewer. The subsequent investigation led to the FIR against Allahbadia, Raina, content creator Ashish Chanchlani, influencer Apoorva Mukhija, and numerous others involved in the show’s production and appearance.

Those summoned include comedians Tanmay Bhatt, Rakhi Sawant, and Amit Tandon, as well as internet personalities Uorfi Javed and Deepak Kalal. The police are investigating the content under various sections of the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, citing obscene content and offensive language. The FIR also references a comment made by a participant about dog consumption in Arunachal Pradesh.

Chanchlani and Mukhija have already given statements to the police. The Maharashtra Women’s Commission has also intervened, requesting a halt to the show’s broadcast and a report on the investigation. A separate FIR has also been filed in Assam. The Mumbai police investigation continues. The Supreme Court’s recent ruling on election freebies is unrelated to this case.
