Wed Feb 12 08:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Aussie Spinner Kuhnemann Reported for Suspect Bowling Action
**Galle, Sri Lanka –** Australian left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has been reported for a suspect bowling action following his impressive performance in the recently concluded two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Kuhnemann, who finished as the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets in Australia’s 2-0 series win, will now undergo mandatory testing within three weeks to determine the legality of his action.
The report, issued by match officials after the second Test in Galle, triggered the ICC’s investigation. A biomechanist will analyze Kuhnemann’s bowling action to assess whether it exceeds the permitted 15 degrees of elbow flex. Until the ICC clears his action, Kuhnemann is expected to be ineligible for international cricket, although he may still be able to participate in domestic Sheffield Shield matches.
Cricket Australia has confirmed it has been notified of the referral and will fully support Kuhnemann throughout the process. A spokesperson stated that they will liaise closely with the ICC and independent experts. Both Cricket Australia and Kuhnemann will refrain from further comment until the matter is resolved.
This is the first time in Kuhnemann’s eight-year professional career, encompassing 124 matches across various formats including five Tests and four ODIs, that his bowling action has been questioned.
