NEW DELHI, Feb 12, 2025 – The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned several prominent YouTubers and the producers of the comedy show “India’s Got Latent” following a public outcry over derogatory comments made during the show. The commission issued summons to Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, along with producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra, to appear for a hearing on February 17th at 12 p.m. in New Delhi.
The NCW Chairperson, Vijaya Rahatkar, expressed strong condemnation of the “vulgar and offensive remarks,” stating they violate the dignity and respect owed to all individuals. She emphasized the need for regulations on social media content and revealed that the commission has contacted the IT Ministry regarding the matter. Concerns were also voiced by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who called for action against those responsible for the offensive content.
