**Louisville, KY** – Several school districts in the Louisville Metro area are closed Tuesday due to a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). The NWS predicts 2-4 inches of snow accumulation from Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon, with the heaviest snowfall expected between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), the largest district, will utilize nontraditional instruction (NTI) – a synchronous eLearning day – for students. Oldham County Schools and Bullitt County Public Schools have also announced NTI days, with schools closed. Greater Clark County Schools will also be closed, with students participating in a synchronous eLearning day. Clarksville Community Schools will also be remote learning.
Shelby County Public Schools, Spencer County Public Schools, and the Kentucky School for the Blind have yet to announce their plans for Tuesday, though Spencer County is advising families to prepare for a potential NTI day. All Archdiocese of Louisville elementary and secondary schools will be closed. Several universities in the area, including the University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Bellarmine University, Spalding University, and Simmons College of Kentucky, have yet to announce whether they will close.
