Mon Feb 10 08:53:12 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Police Investigate YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and Others for Offensive Remarks

**Mumbai, February 10, 2025** – The Mumbai police have launched an inquiry into allegations of offensive and derogatory remarks made by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the organizers of the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.” The investigation follows a formal complaint filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission.

The complaint alleges that the individuals used abusive language and made obscene jokes about women’s bodies during a globally broadcast YouTube episode. The complainant accuses them of deliberately making these remarks to gain popularity and financial profit, disregarding the harm inflicted on women’s dignity and the potential negative impact on young viewers.

The controversial comments, made during a segment intended as humor, sparked widespread outrage. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the remarks, stating that while freedom of speech is guaranteed, it does not extend to encroaching on the freedom and dignity of others. Former National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Rekha Sharma echoed this sentiment, calling the jokes unacceptable and highlighting their negative moral implications. The Shiv Sena also issued a strong condemnation, warning of further action if the producers don’t cease such behavior.

The complainant is demanding strict legal action, including the filing of criminal cases under the Indian Penal Code and the halting of the broadcast. The investigation is ongoing.
