Mon Feb 10 11:08:13 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh Forms Committee to Oversee Restructured Agriculture Scheme**

AMARAVATI, Andhra Pradesh – The Andhra Pradesh government announced the formation of a State-Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) on Monday to manage the implementation of the restructured Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) scheme. Chaired by the Chief Secretary, the committee will include secretaries from various departments, including finance, planning, environment, and agriculture.

The restructured PM-RKVY, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, merges several existing programs to focus on enhancing agricultural production, productivity, and farmer income. Key components include improving water-use efficiency, promoting farm mechanization, implementing soil health management, supporting organic farming, and fostering agroforestry initiatives. The scheme aims to provide states with greater flexibility in tailoring projects to local needs and promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.

The SLSC will be responsible for preparing and submitting proposals to the central government, overseeing the Annual Action Plan, and monitoring the scheme’s progress, meeting at least twice a year. The committee’s authority extends to approving proposals up to 125% of the state’s allocated funds under PM-RKVY guidelines. This move reflects the state government’s commitment to modernizing and improving agricultural practices in Andhra Pradesh.
