Thu Feb 06 12:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Zomato Rebrands as “Eternal,” Embracing Quick Commerce Growth

**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Indian food delivery giant Zomato announced a major rebranding on Thursday, officially changing its name to “Eternal.” The move, which reflects the company’s expansion beyond its core food delivery business, comes over two years after the name was adopted internally.

Eternal will encompass Zomato’s four key divisions: the flagship food delivery service Zomato, the quick-commerce platform Blinkit, the live events business District, and the kitchen supplies unit Hyperpure. Founder Deepinder Goyal stated in a shareholder letter that the public renaming was timed to coincide with Blinkit’s significant contribution to the company’s future growth. The acquisition of Blinkit in mid-2022, initially met with investor skepticism, is now seen as a key driver of success in the burgeoning Indian quick-commerce market.

The rebranding underscores the impact of quick commerce services like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart on Indian consumer behavior. This rapid growth has spurred major retailers, including Reliance JioMart, Amazon, and Walmart India, to launch their own quick-commerce offerings in response.
