Chandrababu Naidu. While revenue from GST, VAT, and excise taxes is expected to see a marginal rise, officials reported that mining revenue has fallen short of expectations.

Chief Minister Naidu expressed concern over the underperformance of the Mining Department, noting its potential for significantly higher revenue given the state’s resources. He urged officials to expedite court cases and approvals to boost mining sector earnings.

Addressing tax evasion, Naidu instructed officials to enforce tax compliance without resorting to harassment of businesses. He stressed the need for innovative strategies to increase state revenue and overcome financial challenges, advocating the use of technology to improve efficiency and income generation.

Naidu emphasized the critical role of financial resources in funding welfare programs and development initiatives. He stated that the previous government’s policies had negatively impacted the standard of living and ruled out placing additional burdens on citizens to generate revenue.
