**SHIVAMOGGA, February 3, 2025** – The 19th Shivamogga district Kannada Sahitya Sammelana (literary conference) will take place at Sahitya Grama in Shivamogga city on February 6th and 7th. The event, announced at a press conference today, will feature a variety of activities including a procession, seminars, a poets’ meet, and a book exhibition and sale.
Noted writer Dr. J.K. Ramesh will preside over the conference. Filmmaker Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar will inaugurate the event, with Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa, Kannada Development Authority Chairman Dr. Purushothama Bilimale, and Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy among the dignitaries attending. Senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu will participate in the valedictory ceremony.
Organizers anticipate over 4,000 attendees and expect approximately 25 book stalls to be set up. The two-day event promises a vibrant celebration of Kannada literature and culture.
