**Bengaluru, February 3, 2025** – A police constable in Bengaluru has been arrested and charged with dowry harassment following a complaint filed by his wife. According to the complaint filed by Rekha, the couple married in August 2024 after meeting at the police station where Rekha had gone to report the accidental death of her first husband. Rekha alleges that after their marriage, Manoj’s family began harassing her. The couple subsequently moved to police quarters in Vasanthnagar.
Rekha’s complaint further alleges that Manoj became indifferent, fought over trivial matters, and engaged in extramarital affairs. When confronted, he allegedly resorted to physical and verbal abuse and demanded dowry.
