Prayagraj, India – Millions of devotees converged at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Monday for the final “Amrit Snan” (holy bath) of the Kumbh Mela 2025, coinciding with the auspicious Basant Panchami festival. The event, characterized by chants of “Har Har Gange,” “Bam Bam Bhole,” and “Jai Shree Ram,” saw a massive turnout starting late Sunday night.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ensured stringent security measures, with senior police officials personally overseeing arrangements. He extended his best wishes to the pilgrims, stating that the Kumbh Mela serves as a source of spiritual inspiration for the world.
A highlight of the day was a flower shower from helicopters upon the Sadhus and saints participating in the holy bath. Devotees also gathered to witness the event and collect the blessed flower petals.
The procession of Akharas (religious orders) to the Sangam began at dawn, with Sadhus and saints, many adorned with traditional attire and carrying religious symbols, proceeding in an impressive display. The digital representation of the Maha Kumbh also proved a significant attraction, allowing devotees to record the event.
Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya commented on the significance of the day, noting the auspicious confluence of Basant Panchami and the upcoming Holi festival, expressing optimism for the future of Sanātana Dharma.
