**PANJIM, GOA** – Veteran Tollywood producer K.P. Chowdary was found dead in Goa on Monday, with police suspecting suicide. Chowdary, known for producing the Telugu release of the Rajinikanth film *Kabali*, had reportedly been struggling with severe financial difficulties following a series of unsuccessful film ventures.
According to police sources, Chowdary’s body was discovered on Monday morning. While the official cause of death is pending investigation, early reports suggest suicide. The producer had previously faced legal troubles involving drug-related charges, which further exacerbated his financial woes.
Chowdary, a mechanical engineer who later worked in the aeronautical industry, entered the film industry in 2016. Besides *Kabali*, his production credits include *Sardar Gabbar Singh*, *Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu*, and the Tamil film *Kanithan*. However, consecutive losses in the film business led him to engage in illegal activities, ultimately resulting in his arrest on drug charges.
Following his release from prison, Chowdary’s financial struggles intensified, leading to his reported suicide in Goa. His family has been informed and is reportedly traveling to Goa to claim his body. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is ongoing.
