Mon Feb 03 18:12:24 UTC 2025: ## Abhishek Sharma’s Century Leads India to Dominant T20 Series Win Over England

**Mumbai, India** – Abhishek Sharma single-handedly decimated England’s bowling attack in the final T20I, smashing a record-breaking 135 runs off just 54 balls, studded with seven fours and 13 sixes. This is the highest individual score ever by an Indian batsman in a T20I. His innings, which included a century in only 37 balls, propelled India to a massive 247/9, leading to a 150-run victory and a 4-1 series triumph.

Sharma’s explosive knock, reminiscent of Chris Gayle’s fearless batting and Yuvraj Singh’s power-hitting, left England’s bowlers bewildered. Even Yuvraj Singh himself lauded Sharma’s performance on X (formerly Twitter), expressing immense pride. Sharma’s innings also included the fastest fifty by an Indian batsman in a T20I, achieved in just 17 balls (second fastest overall), eclipsing even Rohit Sharma’s previous record.

England’s innings collapsed spectacularly, bowled out for 97 runs in 10.3 overs. India’s spin bowlers were particularly effective, taking a record 29 wickets in the series. Varun Chakravarthy was named Player of the Series for his 14 wickets at an economy rate of 7.66.

The match also saw a blistering start from Sanju Samson, who hit two sixes and a four in the first over. However, England’s bowlers fought back, but ultimately had no answer to Sharma’s onslaught and the overall aggressive batting display by the Indian team who scored a record 95 runs in the powerplay.

The victory marks India’s second-largest win by runs in T20Is, surpassing their 168-run win over New Zealand earlier this year. Captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Sharma’s performance, highlighting the impact of his explosive batting and impactful bowling.

This convincing series win further solidifies India’s position as a dominant force in T20 cricket, extending their winning streak to 18 wins out of 21 matches since the World Cup final.
