LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 67th Annual Grammy Awards delivered several historic moments and surprising wins Sunday night. Beyoncé secured her first Album of the Year award, a long-awaited victory for the superstar, winning for her album “Cowboy Carter.” This win makes her only the fourth Black woman to achieve this feat, the first in the 21st century. She also took home the award for Best Country Album. In her acceptance speech, she dedicated the Album of the Year win to Linda Martell, the first Black woman to play the Grand Ole Opry.

Kendrick Lamar swept the Record and Song of the Year awards for his track “Not Like Us,” marking only the second time a hip-hop single has achieved this double win. Chappell Roan earned the coveted Best New Artist award, delivering a powerful speech urging major labels to improve compensation and healthcare for emerging artists.

Other notable wins included Doechii for Best Rap Album (“Alligator Bites Never Heal”), Kacey Musgraves for Best Country Song (“The Architect”), and Amy Allen for Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical). Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Die With A Smile.” The Beatles, represented by Sean Lennon, were awarded Best Rock Performance for “Now and Then.”

The show featured memorable performances by The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Sabrina Carpenter, and a star-studded tribute to the late Quincy Jones, featuring Cynthia Erivo, Herbie Hancock, Lainey Wilson, Jacob Collier, Stevie Wonder, and student singers from schools impacted by recent Los Angeles wildfires.
