**ST. JOHN’S, Antigua** – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has launched a revolutionary data-driven scouting system aimed at identifying and nurturing the region’s top cricketing talent. This initiative marks a significant departure from traditional methods, employing a structured, analytical approach to talent identification.

The new system leverages a network of Senior Talent Managers, Territorial Talent Identifiers (TTIDs), and regional scouts, all working collaboratively and utilizing advanced analytics. The West Indies Championship serves as the initial testing ground, with every performance meticulously tracked and analyzed via CWI’s Athlete Management System (AMS).

Jamal Smith and Ann Browne-John, CWI’s newly appointed Senior Talent Managers, will oversee player data management, collaborate with analysts, and contribute to selection decisions. They will be supported by six TTIDs, each responsible for a specific region, and four regional scouts strategically positioned across the Caribbean.

CWI Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, hailed the initiative as a crucial step towards professionalizing talent identification, emphasizing its fairness and transparency. He urged all stakeholders to support this data-driven approach.

The West Indies Championship is central to the new system’s implementation. TTIDs and scouts are actively monitoring matches, recording performances in real-time to identify promising young players. Bascombe highlighted the Championship’s importance in shaping the future of West Indies cricket.
