**Vijayawada, January 22, 2025** – Vijayawada District Collector G. Lakshmisha has ordered the immediate removal of illegal garbage dumping sites within one week, threatening strict action against those responsible for littering. Following an inspection of a landfill in Jaggaiahpeta with MLA Sreeram Rajagopal, Lakshmisha instructed officials to increase surveillance and fine offenders. He emphasized the importance of clean roads across the district, aligning with the state government’s “Swachh Andhra” initiative. Addressing concerns raised about the Williampeta landfill, the Collector mandated finding an alternative location swiftly and subsequent afforestation of the current site.
