**Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, January 22, 2025** – Retired and current employees of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), affiliated with the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), staged a road roko in Dindigul today, protesting against the state government’s failure to meet their demands.
The protestors, who blocked the Dindigul bus stand, cited several key grievances. They highlighted an eight-year delay in revising their dearness allowance and a 21-month delay in pension disbursement to retirees. Additional demands included inclusion in a state health insurance scheme, filling of vacant positions within the corporation, and the implementation of an old pension scheme.
Following the demonstration, protesters were briefly detained by authorities and later released. The demonstration underscores growing discontent among TNSTC employees regarding their compensation and benefits.
