Sat Jan 18 21:23:44 UTC 2025: ## Pakistan and West Indies to Clash in Crucial Test Series Despite Key Absences

**Multan, Pakistan:** Pakistan and the West Indies will face off in a two-match Test series starting January 17th in Multan, a crucial but ultimately meaningless contest in the World Test Championship cycle. Both teams are out of contention for the final at Lord’s.

The series will see several key absences. Pakistan will be without star bowlers Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi, as well as Saim Ayub who suffered a hamstring injury. They will, however, rely on the spin bowling duo of Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, instrumental in their recent 2-1 series victory over England. The West Indies will also be without Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph.

Shan Masood will captain Pakistan, while Kraigg Brathwaite leads the West Indies. The first Test begins Friday, January 11th at 10 AM IST (9:30 AM IST toss). The matches will not be broadcast on Indian television but will be live-streamed on FanCode.
