**KOCHI, January 19, 2025** – Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has announced another record-breaking year, handling over 10 million passengers for the second consecutive year. December 2024 saw a historic milestone of one million passengers in a single month, according to Industries, Law and Coir Minister P. Rajeeve.

This represents an 18% increase compared to the 8.9 million passengers in 2022-23, accounting for 63.5% of Kerala’s total air passenger traffic. Domestic travel contributed 5.6 million passengers, while international travel reached 4.9 million. CIAL aims to further increase passenger numbers to 12.5 million in 2025, driven by increased domestic and international flight services, and the recent addition of a five-star hotel and the CIAL Lounge 0484.

To enhance passenger experience, CIAL has implemented several improvements including the Fast-Track Immigration (FTI) service, part of a Ministry of Home Affairs initiative. The Digi-Yatra system for domestic passengers and the new FTI-TTP system for international travelers, allowing for near-instantaneous immigration processing after initial online registration, are now operational. Eight new biometric e-gates have been installed to further expedite immigration procedures.
