CHENNAI, January 19, 2025 – Divya Sathyaraj, nutritionist and daughter of renowned actor Sathyaraj, formally joined the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party on Sunday. The induction ceremony took place at the party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Several senior DMK members, including MP T.R. Baalu and Ministers P.K. Sekar Babu and K.N. Nehru, attended the event. Ms. Sathyaraj expressed her honor at joining the party, thanking Chief Minister Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for their support. In a social media post, she cited inspiration from the late DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi and emphasized her commitment to serving the people of Tamil Nadu. She also highlighted the influence of her father’s teachings on equality and social justice, values she attributes to the principles of Periyar, the DMK founder.
