Sun Jan 19 14:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Vayve Mobility Unveils India’s First Solar-Powered Electric Car at BMGE 2025

**New Delhi, India** – Electric vehicle startup Vayve Mobility made a splash at the India Mobility Global Expo (BMGE) 2025 today, unveiling the “Vayve Eva,” India’s first solar-powered electric car. The unveiling drew significant attention from attendees, showcasing a redesigned model compared to its previous iteration.

The Vayve Eva boasts several improvements over its earlier prototype, including increased width, upgraded tires, and enhanced cabin space. Priced competitively at ₹3.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Nova variant, it’s available in three variants: Nova (₹3.25 Lakh), Stella (₹3.99 Lakh), and Vega (₹4.49 Lakh). Despite its compact size (under 3 meters), the car offers surprisingly spacious interiors.

The two-seater features a driver’s seat and a wider rear seat suitable for children or the elderly. Clever design incorporates a foldable tray inside the passenger door for laptops, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof. The car measures 3060 mm in length, 1150 mm in width, and 1590 mm in height, with a ground clearance of 170 mm. It features disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear, electric power steering, and a turning radius of 3.9 meters. The rear-wheel-drive car has a top speed of 70 km/h.

Despite its compact exterior, the Vayve Eva provides ample interior space, incorporating features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, air conditioning, and the aforementioned panoramic sunroof.

The Vayve Eva is a plug-in electric vehicle with a 14 kWh Li-ion battery pack and a liquid-cooled electric motor producing 12 kW of power and 40 Nm of torque. Paired with a single-speed automatic gearbox and regenerative braking, it offers a claimed driving range of 250 kilometers on a single charge. Charging is convenient, taking approximately 4 hours from a standard household socket (15A) or just 45 minutes with a DC fast charger (CCS2). The integrated solar panel, located where the sunroof would typically be, contributes to the overall charging capabilities.

With a total weight of 800 kg and a payload capacity of 250 kg, the Vayve Eva is designed for urban commutes. Vayve Mobility has officially launched the car for sale.
